Playing a new course during a yacht holiday is always a special pleasure. For golfers afloat, keeping a spare set of clubs on board is a given. But what if you had a private coach on board, who brought along a swing machine and worked with you on your short game on the aft deck and performed video analysis in the screening room at the end of the day? Or what if he accompanied you to the course for on-site instruction? Better still; what if someone planned an entire week of on-board and on-course instruction for you and your guests, built around playing the best courses in a given coastal region of the U.S. or Caribbean?

A Florida company called Elite Travel Golf Coaches offers just such services and then some. Owner Robert Mcknight and his team will come aboard your yacht for any length of time and provide any level of instruction, analysis or concierge service you desire.

While golf-oriented yacht charters are not new, the notion of having on board instruction and coaching is unusual. While Elite offers its services to private yacht owners, the company actually specializes in all-inclusive golf itineraries on either of two chartered yachts or by private jets. The yachts are a 198-foot motoryacht called Stargazer that accommodates 10 singles or six couples and a Westport 112 that can take seven players.

Stargazer was refitted this year in the style of a classic golf clubhouse including a helipad driving range and swing analyzing room. It also includes a golf simulator for guests to enjoy while cruising.

The yacht itineraries focus on the U.S. East Coast and the Caribbean. Jet tours are available for Scotland, Ireland, England and the U.S.
