The Antibes Yacht Show runs Apr. 18-21 and it promises to be an event to remember. Event coordinators have been working hard to draw yachts over 65 feet (20 meters), Alter Ego, the 111-foot (34-meter) tug converted by CMN in 2001, will be just one of the big boats on display.
The Delta-built Triton, a well-traveled 163-foot expedition vessel, is being auctioned off at Nielsen Baumont Marine in San Diego, Ca., on April 5, 2013. At the time of her launch in 2004, Triton was the largest composite yacht built in the United States.
On April 15, 2013, Doyle New York will auction a piece of marine history from the yachts of William K. Vanderbilt II, including an 18-karat gold cocktail tray and 12 Tiffany & Co. 18-karat gold cordial glasses. The serving tray bears the name of Willie K’s beloved Alva, and the cordial glasses boats the monikers of both Ara, launched in 1924, and Alva.
