Delta Marine has announced a new custom 110-foot motoryacht is in build at the company’s Seattle shipyard. Developed in response to changing market dynamics, particularly in the 110- to 124-foot range, the project features a new hull platform designed for long-range efficiency and the capability for speed.

“We’ve experienced increasing demand for a fully custom option in the 110- to 124-foot size range,” says Delta Vice President Michelle Jones. “As most of the yachts in this size are production builds, we were thrilled to work with experienced owners on their unique vision for a Pacific Northwest-focused family yacht, which they could operate with minimal crew and cruise the beautiful coastlines of the San Juan Islands, British Columbia and Alaska.”

BEAUTY FROM EVERY ANGLE

According to Delta, the owners and their guests will be transported into a sophisticated and soothing environment. Colors of sand and sea are meant to cast a spa-like spell rich with comfort and texture. Ivories and Mediterranean blue fabrics will surround rich, warm oak woodwork that extends throughout her interiors, featuring espresso wenge accents and sleek minimalist metalwork.

Within a 24-foot beam, the arrangement is optimized for owner operation and family adventures. The interior features a main salon with U-shape seating abaft the dining salon accommodating up to guests. A large galley forward can be enclosed and separated from the guest spaces and will offer a country kitchen dinette for intimate and casual gatherings, as well as a center island with bar seating.

Eight guests are accommodated in four lower-deck ensuite cabins that comprise a full-beam master stateroom, mirrored convertible twin cabins, and a VIP suite in the bow. Crew accommodations for two are located aft.

Walkaround side decks with control stations lend to the ease of operation, which the owners will enjoy from the pilothouse with its twin helm seating and convertible dinette/berth. The spacious aft deck offers prime vistas to enjoy the scenery with dining for 10, while additional seating and a full bar are situated on the bridge deck aft in a semi-enclosed space that can be shaded with retractable awnings.

OCEANIC ADVENTURES UNLOCKED

The yacht will feature a beach garage for toy and gear storage, as well as an articulating swim platform equipped with a Hydromar transformer sea stairs unit. The owners specified a custom aluminum tender to be stowed on the boat deck and launched by a 5,000-pound davit. Delta partnered with an anchor manufacturer to design a hidden flush-mounted anchor in the stem of the vessel.

DELTA’S NEW HULL DESIGN

The yacht’s double-chine, semi-displacement hull form is significant in that it is the first new hull design for Delta solely tested through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis. It is also Delta’s first project that will meet full IMO III and EPA Tier 4 recognition, which facilitated the installation of the newest approved gas exhaust systems on the main engines.

While the new hull form is designed for modest efficient cruising speeds of 12 to 14 knots—affording a longer range—the yacht is also capable of cruising much faster when necessary. The hull shape, coupled with twin MTU 4000s at 2,600 horsepower, allows the yacht to achieve an impressive top-end speed of 27 knots, Delta says.

“Creating a new hull platform that accommodates custom builds in the 110- to 124-foot size range was a unique proposition for us,” Jones says. “But we are thrilled with this design and for the opportunity to showcase our capabilities in advanced composites construction with a full custom, full luxury, family-oriented Pacific Northwest yacht with the capability for speed.”

The 110-footer is among six custom yacht builds in varying stages of construction at the Delta shipyard.
