Three shipyards, three big pieces of news. Lurssen and Abeking & Rasmussen launch two impressive new yachts and CRN celebrates a huge milestone with their 50th anniversary.
Yachts International presents the 10 largest yachts launched in the past year.
The Ferretti Group’s superyacht specialist CRN has launched the 141-foot (43-meter) Lady Genyr. The yacht is hull number eight in the Navetta 43 line and is equipped with an elevator and a new sun-deck layout.
This is no myth. The next Riva to set the tone for years to come will be a 27-knot, 122-foot aluminum planing yacht, and it will be built in Ancona, Italy, at the CRN shipyard.
The 262-foot CRN 80M marks a milestone for Zuccon International Project as the studio’s biggest yacht so far. The studio designed the yacht’s internal layout and defined its outer profile, and focused maintaining ties with the shipyard’s long history and tradition.
The launch of a new yacht is always a big event. But the launch of Chopi Chopi at CRN in Ancona, Italy, on January 12, 2013 was bigger than most. At 262 feet 3 inches and 2,400 tons, Chopi Chopi is very big, but she also is the largest yacht yet to be built by CRN, the largest yacht to be built on Italy’s Adriatic coast and one of the largest yachts launched in Italy to date.
The Active Noise Canceling (ANC) system installed on the 197-foot (60-meter) CRN Darlings Danama (see Yachts International, September 2012) is part of a wider research project that started in 2008. In partnership with VideoWorks, Team Italia and Isel, and a number of regional research institutions, CRN developed this system to obliterate machinery noises.
A stunning new addition to the charter market, this 196-foot CRN has a refreshing minimalist décor with a human touch and great features for extended stays at sea. Darlings Danama is expected to make her Monaco Yacht Show debut in September.
Nuvolari-Lenard designed the largest yacht yet launched at CRN, the superyacht builder based in Ancona. Azteca’s classic appearance and huge open sun deck embody today’s new luxury, according to her designers. The design team had already worked with the shipyard on the commissioning owner’s previous boat, named Clarena.
