Owned by the Hakvoort family since 1919, the Netherland-based Hakvoort Shipyard has plenty of experience building yachts. One of their newest fully custom builds is the 147-foot (45m) Pamela V designed by Diana Yacht Design. This beautiful four-deck gentleman’s yacht evokes a classic feel with both her exterior styling and her understated interior by Jaques Grange, but was built with all the modern amenities. The décor uses mahogany, unpolished oak, and natural stone in combination with a range of quiet colors to welcome guests and help them relax. The deck just below the sundeck—normally devoted to operations and a skylounge—is entirely given up to the owners with a full-beam master suite, spacious bathroom and study, all providing incredible views through the large windows surrounding this deck. On the lower deck, the absence of a lazarette (thanks to the canoe stern) allows for four comfortable and luxurious guest suites aft and five crew cabins, crew mess and ship’s galley forward. The construction of the yacht also allows for an unusual amount of storage space for tenders and watercraft. A garage under the raised wheelhouse holds two dinghies as well as a collection of watercrafts and toys, while a bay on the starboard side of the main deck conceals a custom 26-foot (8.1m) tender and the necessary launching davits. On top of all this, the design team kept an eye on going “green” with the installation of an Energy Storage System and three generators to provide variable levels of electric output. In addition to available electric-only operation for mooring, Pamela V boasts a range of over 5,700nm.
