Nautor’s Swan CEO Enrico Chieffi, a former competitive sailor who met Ferragamo sailing, and long-time designer Germán Frers Jr., who penned the new Swan, hosted a press conference in the glorious model room of the New York Yacht Club a few months ago, to introduce the Swan 105, a perfect opportunity to get some insight into this iconic brand.

There appears to be a general trend for sailing yacht builders to break out of a small circle of sailing fans to appeal with yachts that offer creatures comfort and are easier to handle. Without breaking with tradition, the new Nautor’s Swan 105 seems to embrace this trend.

Heesen 65m YN 16465: Moving Forward

On the occasion of our latest visit to Heesen’s facilities in Oss, we had the opportunity to get aboard the builder’s new flagship, the all-aluminum Heesen 65m. Construction started in December 2011 after a long design and planning process. The much-anticipated yacht, currently in the outfitting stages, is well on her way to an on-time delivery in 2013.

Rybovich Expands

Rybovich is already an established name in the South Florida marine industry, but the recent acquisition of a 3000 ton floating dry dock expands both their hauling capacity and their refit capabilities. Combined with their existing 150 and 660 ton Travelifts, the floating dry dock makes Rybovich the facility with the largest hauling capacity in South Florida.
