Set on the scenic eastern shores of St Lucia, The Jalousie Plantation has completed a three-year, multi-million dollar transformation. On November 30th, it will be rechristened as Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort. The hotel still has its French Caribbean charm, but little else save the location remains as it was. Sugar Beach is set on 100 acres of rainforest. The surrounding pitons almost guarantee that each of the resort’s 59 villas, eight beachfront bungalows and 11 luxury suites will have scenic views. Guests will likely welcome the new spa and several restaurants and bars. Other amenities include a Kids’ Cub, a Cybernook to keep connected to the mainland, a boutique, private garden cabanas and a new swimming pool. Winter season rates start at $640 per night, room only, based on double occupancy and excluding VAT and service charge.
