A distillation of refinement and inspired design, Custom Line 50 has a sophisticated and discerning spirit that points up one of the brand’s core principles: the reinterpretation of nautical tradition through a contemporary lens.

Presented at the last Monaco Yacht Show, Custom Line 50 is the brand’s first 50-meter yacht built entirely from aluminum and Custom Line’s new displacement flagship, marking the shipyard’s entry into the metal-yachts segment under 500 Gross Tons. This expression of consolidated and continuously evolving know-how is the result of synergy between the Strategic Product Department headed by Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard Engineering Department, both based in Ancona on Italy’s Adriatic coast. The exteriors are designed by architect Filippo Salvetti and the project architecture and interiors—entirely made to measure—are by Studio ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.  All other aspects were handled by the project management team, made up of engineers, architects and technical specialists who worked with the customer throughout the process and made a strategic contribution to realizing their vision.

With a length of 49.9 meters, a beam of 9.6 meters and four decks, Custom Line 50 offers over 800 square meters of living space, including 324 square meters of outdoor areas. The volumetric design, usually reserved for larger boats, ensures the ultimate in on-board privacy and comfort.

The layout stands out for its innovative solutions, like the 75-square-meter panoramic master suite in the bow on the upper deck devoted entirely to the owner, and the 120-square-meter beach club with an infinity pool incorporated in the main deck, in direct contact with the water.

“In our view, designing a yacht means working on the relationship between space, water and natural light,” explains Patricia Viel, architect and co-founder of ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. “We don’t envision static homes on the water, but naval architecture designed to support a lifestyle ‘tailored for the sea,’ where the context—in the sense of the physical and perceptual environment—plays a central role in the cruising experience. Every element, from the curving lines of the custom-designed furnishings to the door and window frames, and from the soft perimeters to the materiality of the solid teak and fine cabinetry details, helps define a classic, marine language that reinterprets nautical tradition through a contemporary lens.”

The interiors of Custom Line 50 are a celebration of materials and light, taking an approach to design that aims to dematerialize the outer shell and so create a dialogue between inside and outside. The floor-to-ceiling windows and mirrored surfaces, combined with gentle curves and bespoke architectural solutions, amplify the natural light and the visual connections with the seascape, creating the feeling of complete openness.

The highest expression of this design choice is the 75-square-meter master suite in the bow on the upper deck. Bathed in light, it has glazing on three sides that alternates with reflecting surfaces, leading the way to an outdoor lounge with small sofas and a unique view of the sea. In the center, the double bed with a leather headboard and visible stitching, is the architectural and visual focal point of the room helping define the spaces and separating the sleeping area from the walk-in closet, the bathrooms and the entrance with a natural sense of elegance and without compromising the privileged 180-degree view of the open sea. The main deck lounge too is a “glass box filled with light,” defined by gently curving stern angles that dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior.

The identity of Custom Line 50’s interiors is defined by the care lavished on the details. Every feature is custom made: bespoke freestanding furniture, purpose designed handles, coverings with exclusive textures and leather surfaces crafted with sartorial precision, enhanced by visible stitching that underscores the craftsmanship inherent in the design.

The neutral, stripped-back palette points up natural materials with warm, welcoming colors—natural leather, walnut, limestone—selected with care to satisfy not only aesthetic but also sensory and functional criteria. They include Crema d’Orcia stone, a Tuscan limestone with pale, sandy color tones that helps create a general sense of softness amplified by its velvety texture and natural luminosity.

Three-dimensional surface treatments are a signature design feature. The ribbed-finish walnut wood and the relief work on the stone create a visual and tactile continuum between the various areas, from the living space to the cabins and bathroom areas, transforming every architectural feature into an immersive experience. Technical aspects also reveal the same focus on detail, such as the sound-absorbing cladding in the stairwell or the elegant lift that connects the decks and is perfectly integrated with the ribbed walnut walls.

This exclusive, innovative design is reflected in every stylistic choice, aiming to conjure up the feeling of being on an island immersed in the warm embrace of the seascape.
