The latest of John Staluppi’s signature Bond yachts, Benetti’s 200-foot Diamonds Are Forever lives up to the fame of her predecessors. With a fully custom layout and interior, this yacht is designed with the comfort of charter guests in mind.
With pomp and circumstance, Benetti in early June launched its latest Vision 145, Checkmate, into Viareggio’s Darsena Italia Basin. Checkmate is the 15th yacht built in the Vision line, and the top of the Class range of yachts.
Lyana, a custom 197-foot (60-meter) steel hull and aluminum superstructure yacht with four interior decks and five comfortable suites features exterior styling by Stefano Natucci. The interior design is a combination of Zuretti and Pierre-Yves Rochon, who used a distinctive Macassar ebony floor and bulkhead detailing, contrasted with lighter anigré in the attractive main salon.
Adnan Kashoggi, once a well-known arms dealer, ordered a yacht designed by Jon Bannenberg. The yacht kept a fairly high profile, appearing on the big screen in the James Bond flick “Never Say Never.” Real estate mogul Donald Trump was the yacht’s next owner and renamed her Trump Princess. Prince Al Waleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud bought the vessel next, which became Kingdom 5KR.
