One new design recently launched from McConaghy Boats while Austrian deign firm Motion Code: Blue has released renders of a yacht that would make a stir in every port she pops up in.
Take a look at two partnerships that have produced interesting new concepts: Mercedes-Benz Style and Silver Arrows Marine show off the Granturismo and DeBasto Designs and Hodgdon Shipyard give us their Onyx 41.
Spanish shipyard Astondoa unveiled drawings for the 63 Top Deck, a dayboat with big-yacht amenities, at the 2013 Yacht & Brokerage Show in Miami Beach. Luiz de Basto initially designed this versatile vessel for an owner with a young and active family.
This is no myth. The next Riva to set the tone for years to come will be a 27-knot, 122-foot aluminum planing yacht, and it will be built in Ancona, Italy, at the CRN shipyard.
For a master’s thesis, Giovanni Crosera, a recent IUAV graduate, tackled a fast-transfer passenger boat to take tourists from Venice’s airport to the city center. Sleek and stylish, this 75-foot boat is more than mere transportation.
On the occasion of the 2012 Yacht Valley Press Tour organized by HISWA, the Dutch yachting industry association, we had the opportunity to visit De Voogt Naval Architects, a firm whose history is closely bound to that of superyacht builder Feadship.
Benetti Yachts asked nearly 20 international design firms, including established designers and a few new to the industry, to develop superyacht projects in the 50- to 90-plus-meter range and explore the idea of the yacht of the future. The Benetti Design Innovation Challenge yielded 27 creative and beautifully articulated projects from 16 designers and their staffs.
