Mercedes-Benz Style And Silver Arrow

Silver Arrows Marine has been developing a concept in partnership with Mercedes-Benz Style and the project just passed a major milestone with the approval of the final design. The Granturismo concept is a 46-foot (14-meter) design that was developed employing many of the stringent prototype testing and development methods of the automotive industry. The open-plan of the Granturismo offers a high degree of flexibility to the layout of the yacht and the design includes what the team calls the “terrace by the pool,” offering unhindered access to the water and maximizing the exterior space with a unique seating arrangement. More details on the design will be released at the official presentation of the project during the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

DeBasto Designs and Hodgdon Shipyard

A partnership between DeBasto Designs and Hodgdon Shipyard has produced a new concept called the Onyx 41. From the glass bridge helm to the hybrid electric propulsion system with joystick steering, the Onyx 41 uses state of the art technology in every area onboard. The focus wasn’t entirely on function, though. The form of the yacht received a good deal of attention as well. The fabrics from the Interiors Division of Loro Piana and the open layout features a wraparound settee, galley, head as well as a spacious berth with large skylights. The use of glass is carried throughout the yacht, with the semi-enclosed main deck including both large windows and a multiple-panel, sliding skylight roof. Currently, the yard plans for the Onyx 41 to be a limited edition series.
