Oceans 12: Benetti’s Next Step

In Cannes, the Azimut Benetti Group unveiled a new hull and propulsion combination for future Azimut Grande models. With Azimut styling and DNA but built under the Benetti umbrella, the range currently includes yachts from 100 to 120 feet. A 140-foot flagship (pictured) is under development.

Oceans 12: Palladium SiMON GOLD

At the Monaco Yacht Show, Palladium introduced its integrated glass bridge system dubbed SiMON GOLD, designed to put the ship’s monitoring at the captain’s fingertips. Extending Palladium’s work with Apple multi-touch devices, the intuitive system allows you to drag items from the menu bars to create personalized “View Ports.”

Palladium Technologies in Monaco introduced its new integrated Glass Bridge system SiMON GOLD. Aside from its sleek glass surface and rich graphics, the bridge’s touch screen puts ship monitoring at the captain’s fingertips. An extension of Palladium’s work with Apple multi-touch devices, the system is intuitive and user friendly.

FarSounder’ Next Generation Navigation Sonars

After several years of development, US-based marine electronics manufacturer FarSounder has introduced its new generation of navigation sonars at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show—the FarSounder-500 (able to detect target 500 meters away) and FarSounder-1000 (for targets 1000 meters away).

METS Celebrates its 25th Anniversary

METS returns to Amsterdam November 13 to 15, a date that will mark the show’s 25th anniversary. The first edition of this trade-only show was held in 1988 with a little over 100 exhibitors. In 2011, the show attracted 1,331 exhibitors, organized in various international pavilions.
