Nautor Swan has unveiled the new Swan 51, designed by German Frers—who also penned the original Swan 51 in 1981, marking the beginning of a long-standing partnership between Frers and the Finnish yard.
“The fifty-foot size has always been at the heart of sailing,” said Giovanni Pomati, CEO of Nautor Swan. “The Swan 51 is easy to handle, offers excellent comfort with spacious owner and VIP cabins, and provides a perfect entry into the Swan world.”

Heritage
The original Swan 51, launched in 1981, was based on the 51-foot Admiral’s Cup racer Blizzard and was the first of over 700 Swans designed by Frers. The 1,000th yacht built by Nautor was also a Swan 51, named Formosa. Notably, Leonardo Ferragamo’s first yacht was a second-hand Swan 51.
Design
The new Swan 51 builds on experience gained from constructing 70 yachts between 48 and 55 feet. The mast has been moved aft to enhance balance and performance, making the yacht more agile and responsive—ideal for both coastal cruising and offshore passages.
A pure sailing machine, the Swan 51 emphasizes performance and helming precision—more sports car than limousine.

Hull
Feedback from Swan owners and Frers’ design expertise shaped the refined hull form, which blends speed, safety, and comfort. The glass and foam core sandwich structure improves strength and balance. The twin-rudder setup maintains control even at a 20-degree heel and allows for shallower anchorage options with an optional 2.05-meter shallow keel. A 3.2-meter performance keel is also available.
A standard bow thruster aids low-speed maneuvers, and a fixed bowsprit—housing the anchor well forward—reduces damage during anchoring. An optional double-action transom adds a swim platform and tender garage.

Deck
The deck design prioritizes functionality, safety, and comfort. A large forward sail locker, integrated self-tacking track, and a sprayhood garage are part of the streamlined Frers coachroof. Thanks to wide-body coaming, the cockpit offers space comparable to a 60-footer, with two modular tables that convert into sunpads or a 10-seat dining area.
Frers has also softened the hull-to-deck joint for visual elegance. A sportier setup is available with a taller carbon mast, deeper keel, square-top mainsail, and optional running backstays.

Interiors
Interior design by Misa Poggi combines Swan’s classic luxury with modern sensibility. The main saloon is open and light-filled, with a C-shaped sofa, customizable chart table, and domestic-grade galley.
Below deck, the three-cabin layout includes a large forward owner’s suite with en-suite head and shower. Two aft cabins—VIP and guest—share a spacious head. A soundproofed engine room allows easy access and includes space for an optional generator.
Owners can choose from four interior themes: Swan Soul, Scandi Vision, Blue Genoa, and Velvet Vibe—each delivering Swan’s hallmark craftsmanship and comfort.
