Founded in 1985 by Giuseppe Balducci, Overmarine Group has become a benchmark in global luxury yachting. Best known for its Mangusta brand, the company has led the Maxi Open yacht segment since the early 1990s.
From the beginning, Overmarine has been a family-run business. Giuseppe’s children, Maurizio and Katia, joined him at the helm early on, and the third generation is now continuing the tradition—ensuring continuity, close client relationships, and hands-on quality control.

Mangusta redefined the yacht market with a bold new style that combined Italian craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and forward-thinking design. Even its name—Mangusta, Italian for “mongoose”—was a statement, referencing the only animal known to defeat cobras, in a symbolic challenge to a rival yacht line.
In 1991, Mangusta made headlines with the launch of the Mangusta 80 Open—an over-24-meter sport yacht that blended sleek lines and 40+ knot performance with spacious interiors. Designed by Stefano Righini, the model became a global success, with 75 units built.
This momentum led to a series of iconic designs between 72 and 130 feet, culminating in the Mangusta 165 in 2007—a 50-meter yacht capable of 40 knots, offering the interior elegance of a luxury villa at sea.
In 2014, Overmarine expanded into displacement yachts—the industry’s largest segment—with a new design language. Partnering with automotive designer Alberto Mancini, the Mangusta Oceano 42 debuted with a sleek, modern look and innovative features. This collaboration continues today across the Oceano line and the GranSport semi-displacement series.

In the high-performance segment, Overmarine partnered with designer Igor Lobanov to reinterpret Mangusta’s signature lines for a new era. The result was two new flagships: the Mangusta 104 REV (launched in 2019) and the Mangusta 165 REV (launched in 2021). Both models feature dynamic profiles, sculpted surfaces, expansive windows, and indoor-outdoor continuity—all hallmarks of Mangusta’s evolving identity.
Mangusta now offers three distinct lines:
- Maxi Open REV, for those who value speed (35+ knots) and style.
- Oceano, for long-range cruising at 11 knots with transoceanic range.
- GranSport, which balances speed and endurance (25–30 knots with ocean-crossing capability).
Flagships like the Mangusta 165 REV and GranSport 54 “El Leon” showcase the brand’s technical and design excellence.

Overmarine remains committed to sustainability, reducing fuel consumption by 30% over the past decade and enabling all models to run on renewable HVO biofue
With over 320 yachts launched—more than 130 equipped with waterjets—Overmarine operates from 10 sites across Viareggio, Massa, and Pisa, with more than 600 team members. As it celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025, the company remains rooted in family values, Italian heritage, and a vision for the future of luxury on the sea.
