Florida-based Yellowfin, known for its high-end sportfishers, now offers a new line of RIB tenders. Captain Dean Maggio approached Yellowin’s owner Wiley Nagler a little over a year ago with the idea of building a multi-purpose RIB.

Based on his extensive experience, he felt there was a need for a new boat, better suited to the yacht market. The encounter produced a first 40-foot model, which was based on Yellowfin’s existing 39-foot hull. Maggio, a fan of the Yellowfin hull, thought it would make the perfect base for his tender. It seems that he may have been on to something. Five of the 40-foot tenders he developed with Yellowfin have already been sold, including one to the Swedish America’s Cup team. Maggio, who now works as a sales manager for the RIB line, says that the exceptional interior volume on this model allows for a wide range of options on deck. The deep-V stepped hull provides a smooth, stable ride and a top speed of 69 knots. Options include a bow thruster, triple outboard engines, heated shower, entertainment system and even air conditioning. Yellowfin is developing additional models from 24 feet to around 30 feet to round out the series. Custom orders are also available.
