German headphone maker Sennheiser has released the latest iteration of its Orpheus headphones, which it claims simply are the “best headphones in the world.” The Sennheiser HE 1 model combines the advantages of a tube amplifier with those of a transistor amplifier. Each unit’s more than 6,000 components include gold-vaporized ceramic electrodes and platinum-vaporized diaphragms. Richard Mille has released a timepiece that is both functional for yachtsmen and looks like it means business. The RM 60-01 Regatta Flyback Chronograph has 55 hours of power reserve, an annual calendar with oversize date and a UTC function. It adds navigational capabilities through its rotating bezel with indications of the four cardinal points combined with a graduated 360-degree and 24-hour scale disk. To calculate location, the UTC indicator is directed toward the sun using the UTC pusher, then the bezel is turned so the UTC hand lines up with the actual local time engraved on the bezel’s circumference. When set in this manner, the cardinal points will be correctly aligned with the direction on the earth’s surface. You could figure all this out the easy way, but what fun is that? Price: $150,000
