We’re edging closer to the end of the year, but before we celebrate the beginning of 2013, there are a few notable events to make sure you don’t miss. One of them is Ocean Reef’s long-standing Vintage Weekend in the Florida Keys. Hosted at the Ocean Reef Club from November 29 to December 2, this event showcases classic yachts, aircraft and automobiles. Visitors will get a close look at former presidential yacht Honey Fitz, which, after years of painstaking restoration, is now sailing once again. The 92-foot 3-inch yacht was one of President John F. Kennedy’s favorite retreats from public life and was brought back to life by her owner and the team at Palm Beach, Florida-based Moore Marine. Yachts International featured an article on Honey Fitz several years ago, before the work was completed, providing a glimpse into this glorious yacht’s rich history (click here to read). Other classic yachts expected to attend will include several examples of the work done by Trumpy Yachts and Rybovich & Sons Boat Works.

Located on 2,500 tropical acres on the northern tip of Key Largo, Ocean Reef is a private club, marina and member-owned resort community. However, Vintage Weekend provides everyone who wishes to attend an opportunity to visit the resort. The weekend will include various events and a full schedule is listed below.
