The 53rd iteration of “FLIBS” features more superyachts than ever, but it isn’t just superyachts. Here is a sample of coming attractions

Looking for a deal on the brokerage market? There will be plenty of attractive superyachts for sale at FLIBS this year, but don’t expect a steal. Contrary to persisting rumors, brokers tell us that, while prices dipped drastically in 2009 (up to 40 percent), they have recovered and have been holding pretty steady ever since. Of course, that is good news for the yachting industry and for yacht owners seeking to trade up or down as they reach a new stage in their boating lives.

In the following pages, we highlight a few superyachts available on the brokerage market and bring you a small sample of new boats of all sizes expected in Fort Lauderdale this year. A few of those making their US debut include Overmarine’s Mangusta 165, the Benetti Delfino 93 and the CdM’s Darwin 86. While the US economy is slow to recover, it is going in the right direction, which makes this large and mature boat market pretty attractive again. Among boating companies investing in the United States is British boatbuilder Sealine. This year the company is showcasing two of its newest models.
