On Monday 26th August 2019, Abeking & Rasmussen laid the keel of a new 387-foot (118 meter) motoryacht — the largest project in the history of the company. The festive ceremony took place at Pella Sietas, Hamburg. Numerous representatives of the owners, the designers, the shipyard and the subcontractors were present to witness this milestone.
In order to build this yacht, there are already numerous innovations in production. A newly developed process of laser welding guarantees a smoother surface that reduces reworking to a minimum. This new method was developed by the Berlin company Photon in close cooperation with Abeking & Rasmussen and promises great results for the highest demands on the shell plating.
Joseph Dirand Architecture designed the yacht, which will feature numerous tenders, water toys and a submarine. A Neptune Lounge and an exceptionally large pool are just some of the highlights. Cornelsen & Partner is acting as the Owner’s Representative of this project.
