“Pioneering and leading the explorer vessels’ segment requires a clear vision of the market and a proactive attitude, hence CdM’s decision to further extend and diversify its already rich offer with a new semi-custom range devised with Francesco Paszkowski, the line composed by models from 310 to 499 GR”, says Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and Sales & Marketing Director of Cantiere delle Marche.
The EXP 43 summarizes all features and characteristics of the series she belongs to.
With the right equilibrium between comfortable interior living spaces and the build and technical reliability to take on the punishing seas, the EXP 43 has all characteristics that give her the confidence to sail into remote destinations.
With a robust and overengineered displacement steel hull and light aluminum superstructure, the EXP 43 will have a displacement of around 400t and a Gross Tonnage just below 499GT. Twin Caterpillar C32 Acert 746kW each with a selective Catalytic Reduction system (IMO TIER III compliant) and 15,850 gallon/ 60,000-liter fuel tanks allow a range of above 5000nm and a top speed of 14 knots.
Among EXP 43’s key features, is an extremely large cockpit and the large glazed surfaces on both main and upper deck salon that best show off the indoor/outdoor ethos of this project. The upper salon is a bright and airy veranda wrapped in glass surfaces to enhance the continuity between the outdoors and the comfortable interiors so, no matter what time of year the owner is cruising, even if it’s not nice enough to venture outside, he and his guests can enjoy a direct connection to the sea.
Guests will have four double suites on the main deck forward and two twin cabins on the lower deck. A large galley and equally large crew mess and laundry are on the lower deck. Four crew cabins occupy the forward section of the lower deck, and the Captain has his own suite by the wheelhouse. Tenders and toys will be stored in a special compartment located on the Upper deck forward.

2021 was a very successful year for CdM
“Firstly, to take stock of the work done so far, I have to say that, under many aspects, 2021 has been the most memorable year since CdM started its activity in 2010. In the last six months or so we sold a remarkable number of explorer vessels,” says Vasco Buonpensiere.
In these last few months CdM has finalized the contracts for the construction of:
- 2 x Darwin 86
- 1 x RJ 115
- 2 x Flexplorer 146
- 1 x one-off explorer yacht identified with the yard’s name of Project T
- 1 x Acciaio 130
- 2 x RJ 157
“These are extraordinary results, indeed!” comments Buonpensiere. “Our order book includes 15 new builds for a total of 1,896 feet/ 578 meters and the data taken into consideration up to now witness that the value of our production doubled if compared to 2019.”
