Baglietto’s new 131-foot / 40-meter motoryacht Panam, pays homage to the shipyard’s traditions in the construction of high-performance aluminum yachts pencilled by Francesco Paszkowski Design—with whom the Italian boat builder has been working since 1992— in cooperation with Margherita Casprini for interior design.
The owner’s design brief was for a sporty craft with a dynamic profile that would instantly convey a sense of speed. Care was taken to reduce weight as much as possible. For instance, the four aft hatches were built in carbon fiber. The Panam delivers outstanding performances thanks to her alloy aluminum hull and 3 MTU V16 2000 engines plus 3 KaMeWa waterjets that push her to a maximum speed of 31 knots and a comfortable cruising speed of 25.
The sleek, wedge-shaped profile with a powerful stern and vertical bow sits compact on the water. The large, dark, geometrically-cut windows enhance this yacht with a modern, dynamic character,
Contact with the sea was a priority with this yacht’s design brief. This was achieved thanks to the large windows that flood the interior with plenty of natural light, the see-through surface of the gunwale on the main deck and along the perimeter of the fly bridge, and the extraordinary liveability of the outdoor spaces, which feature a beach club and a large flybridge.
In keeping with the design of the exterior, the interior has a contemporary, elegant and welcoming style. Repeat materials have been employed in different combinations for the various indoor areas: warm light wood in soft shades of grey and dove grey has been used for the sandblasted oak floors and the striped oak vertical wall cladding, while the furnishings— such as shelves, tops and cupboard doors—are enriched by leather and glass details. The bathrooms are characterized by an extensive use of onyx and marble, selected together with the Owner, in harmonious color consistency with the lacquered surfaces of the ceiling panels.
The layout features a large saloon on the main deck, separated from the dining area by a “green” wall. Forward on this deck is the full-beam master stateroom with a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom with Hammam. Two electric windows open on both sides, offering a breath-taking panoramic view. Also, a bedroom for child has also been created within the master suite.
Four guest staterooms are on the lower deck as well as the professional galley. Forward, on the same deck is the crew area, including the captain’s cabin, 2 double cabins, the laundry, and a crew dinette. The partially floodable garage, accommodating a 17ft tender, is located behind the engine room. There is an aft beach area, where 3 of its sides can be folded down and converted into 3 terraces and the beach platform transformer provides easy access to the sea.
The focus on outdoor spaces is particularly apparent in the 670 sqft /65sqm fly bridge, aft of which is a large custom-made swimming pool with counterflow system, and also features a customized bar counter with sliding top designed by Studio Paszkowski. Forward on the flybridge is an additional sunbathing area.
Motoryacht Panam had her world premiere at both Cannes Yachting Festival, which was held from September 7-12 and at the Monaco Yacht Show, September 22 to 25.

Boat builder Baglietto specializes in the construction of new planing aluminium yachts ranging between 38 and 50 meters in length and steel & aluminum displacement mega-yachts above 40 metres. Baglietto can currently rely on 2 production sites, in La Spezia (headquarters) and Carrara (operating site). The La Spezia headquarters extend over an area of approximately 35,000 sqm. Over the last few years, the entire production site has been extensively renovated and enlarged. Three new sheds (the last one was inaugurated in March 2020) allowing for the construction of yachts up to 65m in length were built in La Spezia, as well as new fully-equipped quays, to berth vessels of up to 70 m. The operating site in Carrara, conversely, comprises 2 areas of 5,000 sq. m each. One is used to build military crafts, while in the other – now equipped with 4 new sheds – yachts up to 50 m in length are built. Baglietto’s activities are set to grow considerably, not only with regard to the construction of new pleasure vessels, but also in the military sector, with the BAGLIETTO NAVY brand, under which 2 crafts for the Italian Navy are currently under construction.
