Earlier this week in Ancona, CRN’s 242-foot (74-meter) superyacht Cloud 9 launched to great fanfare.
A spectacular and powerful combination of engineering expertise and ground-breaking design, Cloud 9 is a close collaboration between CRN shipyard, Zuccon International Project and Winch Design.
Cloud 9’s clean lines are enhanced by subtle superstructural design details and the elegant aesthetics of all her guest areas, resulting in a world-class superyacht. With her beam of 45 feet (13.5 meters) and five expansive decks, plus a sub deck, Cloud 9 comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests in a master suite and five guest cabins. She also houses 34 crewmembers. Powered by two Caterpillar 3516C engines, Cloud 9 delivers a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots.
Cloud 9 was commissioned by an experienced superyacht owner and close friend of Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. The superyacht was a collaborative effort, with CRN developing the technical aspects, exterior design by Zuccon International Project, and Winch Design creating the interior and exterior guest areas. As a result, she boasts nearly 10,800 square feet of design elements, again raising the bar for quality. “Not only in terms of immediate appearance to her owners and guests,” explained Ed Beckett, naval architect with Burgess Technical Services, “but also from the perspective of seakeeping and comfort, the arrangement of engineering systems, the quality of the paintwork and attention to detail throughout whether visible or invisible.”
