Lürssen has floated what is believed will be the largest yacht in the world. The German builder in May slid the partially completed hull of what is being called Project Azzam from its build shed and towed it to a drydock for completion. The hull was missing its bow section. With the bow installed, speculation is, the yacht will measure at least 180 meters (590ft 6in), eclipsing significantly the current record holder Eclipse, which measures 162.5 meters (533ft 2in). Eclipse was built by Blohm & Voss.

As is the case with many large yachts launched in recent years, the Lürssen build was veiled in secrecy with few reliable details available at this stage.
