On the 2012 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show’s windy and rainy opening day, Christensen Shipyards signed a contract with new customers on Project C-2014 (previously sold to another Christensen customer). Christian Bakewell of Merle Wood & Associates assisted in the transaction. Part of Christensen’s 160 Custom Series and a sistership to Odessa and Remember When, the yacht will feature a traditional, high-gloss walnut interior, intricate stonework, an elevator serving all levels and a large sun deck with a 10-person Jacuzzi, barbecue, bar and dining under the hardtop. The yacht is scheduled for a January 2014 delivery.
The next day, Christensen closed on a 164-foot Custom Series project to be called Chasseur. This yacht will feature new contemporary exterior styling by the Christensen design team and will be LY-3 compliant. Other new features include a pop-out balcony at the skylounge; larger outdoor spaces on the aft main, bridge and sun decks; and wraparound glass at the main salon. Tonya Lance of VARO Interior Design will create its minimalist interior styling. Chasseur is scheduled for delivery in December 2014.
Finally, Christensen closed a contract with John Rosatti, Dawn Kimball and family, former owners of the 2005 Christensen 157-foot Custom Series Nice n’ Easy and current owners of the 2011 162-foot Custom Series Remember When. Appropriately, their new 164-foot Custom Series will be called Project Trifecta. Like Chasseur, it will be LY-3 compliant. The interior will be contemporary with lighter woods and intricate stonework with metal and onyx inlays, along with special features that the owners are keeping under wraps until the yacht’s debut in September 2015.
