A New Classic Is Born

Conceived by an all-Austrian team of designers, naval architects and engineers, Frauscher’s new 858 Fantom brings yacht and automotive features together in a single project. The 28-foot (8.7-meter) hull is the product of Thomas Gerzer, Harry Miesbauer and KISKA, the design firm that recently worked on KTM motorcycles and Audi interiors. What they have produced is a contemporary boat with the profile of a classic. The tinted, frameless windshield draws the eye, but not more than the yacht’s lines. Under the foredeck, a small cabin can serve as a space to escape the sun or, if sunning is on the agenda for the day, guests can use the sunpad aft. The 858 Fantom can carry seven guests and has a base price of approximately $245,000.
