The 144-foot (44-meter) Green Voyager is a high-stakes project. Launched with fanfare at the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show, it attracted lots of attention with its fresh styling by Axis Yacht Design and ambitious environmental goals. It was the first project of this size to try and achieve the RINA Green Star Plus designation. Increased air pollution in his hometown inspired Kingship founder Roger Liang to tackle the ambitious project, which was developed with Viareggio-based Axis Yacht Design. To be fuel efficient, it had to be as light as possible for a steel and aluminum yacht this size. After a brief period in the water to allow the shipyard to test buoyancy, trim and draft in December, the Green Voyager was returned to dry dock for further weight calculations. The shipyard was pleased with the results. It will be another year before the Green Voyager is ready for delivery. While construction continues, Kingship welcomes anyone keen on seeing this interesting yacht up close to visit the shipyard.
