At 138 feet (42 meters), the recently launched Sofia is Moonen’s largest build to date. Ordered by a repeat client, Sofia is also notable because she was designed to accommodate a three-passenger C-Quester 3 submersible from U-Boat Worx. Meant to be a crossover between a classic explorer yacht and a more modern-style vessel, this project brought together René van der Velden, Stolk Marimecs, Frank Pieterse and Marilyn de Vaal of Art-Line, Inoferro, as well as Moonen’s in-house team of designers and craftsmen. Sofia was built to comply with Lloyds and MCA requirements and standards.
