NISI announces the new 56-foot (17-meter) 1700 Sport Cruiser, a “resized, reimagined and redefined” version of the builder’s award-winning NISI 2400 series motoryacht, which was designed in collaboration with the Setzer Yacht Architects. NISI 1700 is available with a range of power options; Hull No. One will be equipped with twin Caterpillar C-18s totaling 2,300hp mated to UltraJets waterjet drives, providing a projected top speed of 38-plus knots. It is scheduled to launch in spring 2013. NISI 1700’s “retro” exterior styling with its plumb bow, inspired by the classic New England lobster yachts, is combined with contemporary construction utilizing carbon fiber laminates throughout. Lithium power-generation systems will support the onboard services, providing the yacht with diesel-generator independence for up to five days, or overnight with air conditioning if required.

“Disappearing” salon doors expand the yacht’s interior entertaining space to incorporate the aft deck. Below, six guests are accommodated in three staterooms.
NISI Yachts is offering the model on a semicustom basis that allows owners to personalize their yacht to their own tastes. Custom interiors will be crafted in partnership with SMI of New Zealand. NISI 1700 is available in Express and Flybridge versions.
