Mangusta recently delivered the first hull of its newest Oceano design: the 39. The 39 is the entry-level of the Mangusta Oceano long-range displacement line. Built at Overmarine’s shipyard in Viareggio, Italy, this new model in composite material with a carbon fiber superstructure further extends the Mangusta Oceano range, which already includes a 44-meter and a 50-meter.

The new 30 was developed and engineered by the shipyard’s engineering department together with designer Alberto Mancini and design firm Studio Verme. Her new concept of open spaces and direct contact with the sea offers guests an unprecedented onboard experience, also thanks to a minimal superstructure and a extensive use of glass, which is the dominant feature across the entire vessel. Lighting design too plays a key role, highlighting the beauty of her teak on all outer decks and the material consistency between indoor and outdoor areas.

A centerpiece of the design is her upper deck, which looks like the patio of a modern villa on the sea featuring impressive glass surfaces. The open space inside has floor-to-ceiling windows, one of which can be fully opened. The aft door opens up completely to create a smooth, free-flowing continuum between exteriors and interiors. The interiors are characterized by warm, soft shades. The furniture is by Minotti, including the deep and embracing Connery sofa completed by a bench and a pouf. The result is a versatile salon surrounded by the sea. The top of the coffee table, also by Minotti, is in the same Calacatta marble as the dining table with its Tribù seats.

The full immersion in the natural landscape, however, reaches its peak on the outer deck. Beyond the glazed surfaces, the sea and the sky blend together, offering breathtaking views at any time of the day.

The imposing and powerful bow protects the glazed wheelhouse. The infinity pool has a partly glazed bottom that lets natural light flood the owner’s bathroom below it and is completed by loose furniture including large chaises and coffee tables by Minotti.

The sundeck extends over 85 sq.m. (914 sq.ft.) and has been furnished to make the most of its many assets with a relaxation area offering an open view on the sea thanks to entirely glazed parapets; a dining area sheltered by a large hard top with a table seating 10, also completed by Tribù seats; an airy bar area; and a sunbathing area. The versatile sundeck is endowed with generous volumes.

Aft, the foldable terraces allow to gain access to the 180-degree beach house/garage, custom-made to the owner’s requirements and creating a natural extension overlooking the sea.

The salon on the main deck—also featuring ceiling-high windows, one of which opens up completely—is accented by warm shades that harmonize with those of outdoor furniture and furnishings.

On both sides of the salon are sofas and armchairs by Poltrona Frau, including the iconic Archibald armchair, and coffee tables by Minotti with Calacatta marble tops. The wall behind the dining area seating 10 people is decorated by leather inserts in light shades of beige and aquamarine, alternating with wooden details to create a stylish geometric pattern. The same pattern, color shades and materials can be found on the wall of the upper deck bar area.

This first unit’s layout includes four spacious guest cabins on the lower deck and a master suite on the main deck, fitted with a fully automated balcony that can be easily operated by the owner. The suite features a bright, private study area. A side door hides a spacious dressing room, also framed by a large window. The bathroom has been fitted with two washbasins to make room for a huge shower with a sea view.

The Mangusta Oceano 39 is powered by 2 MTU 12 V 2000 M 86 1,700hp engines that will deliver a cruising speed of 12 knots, a maximum speed of 16 knots, and a range of up to 2,600 nautical miles. The yacht is also available with 2,600hp engines, delivering a cruising speed of 18 knots and a maximum speed of 20 knots.
