“Quattroelle” refers to what the owner considers the four most important Ls: Love, Life, Liberty and Luxury. You can even spy four Ls, grouped into two sets of interlocking letters, painted on her bow and mast. Nuvolari-Lenard handled both exterior styling and interior design (plus crew uniforms and the tenders) and states that Lurssen’s Quattroelle, with a 45-foot (13.72-meter) beam and immense volume, posed quite a challenge. The trick was keeping her streamlined, yet still powerful-looking. One way Nuvolari-Lenard did it was to shape the mast to resemble the air scoop of a Formula One car. Another way: mixing pale-toned woods and metallic surfaces for areas like the upper-deck salon.
