The Power of Endurance
Couach’s flagship was five years in the making. During that time the company went through several ownership and leadership changes and the tragic death of its young CEO. New investors Nepteam took over in November 2011. Through it all, Couach continued to work on this impressive and voluminous Kevlar-and-carbon composite yacht, the largest such yacht built in France. Between her delivery in May and her boat show appearances in Cannes and Monaco, the appropriately named La Pellegrina (Italian for pilgrim) has navigated extensively and the numbers are impressive: This yacht is capable of a maximum speed of 28 knots and cruises comfortably at about 16.5 knots with a range of 4,000 nautical miles. Jean-Pierre Fantini designed the modern interior with finishing touches by Danielle Chopard. A walkthrough reveals an interior both massive and airy. A logical flow leads from the vast salon, dining area, attractive guest lobby to the panoramic master suite forward on the main deck. A second master, aft on the upper deck, complements four spacious ensuite cabins on the lower deck. The exterior spaces are spacious but well integrated into the alluring yacht.
