The Forerunner

The Damen Shipyards Group may not be a household name in yachting circles, but it definitely created a buzz in Monaco when the 220-foot (67.15-meter) Sea Axe Garçon pulled into Port Hercules. Built by Damen and marketed by Amels, this super-cool fast-support vessel combines the best of the commercial and yachting worlds. Garçon also has a real helipad with a 5.5-ton (5,000-kilogram) take-off weight. In addition to her amazing load capacity and spacious interiors, which can accommodate anything from additional staff to a hospital, the Sea Axe is speedy. This means she can precede the mothership to any anchorage, making logistics easier. The Sea Axe Fast Yacht Support is currently offered in three sizes: 37.3 meters, 51.3 meters and 67.15 meters. The owner of Garçon really likes his toys. Aside from his spectacular mothership and the beautifully finished Garçon, he owns a fleet of special boats, including a beautiful J Craft, stored on the support vessel’s extensive aft deck.
