Building upon and expanding its existing digital platform, German yacht builder Lürssen has launched the first of several free apps for iPad and iPhone users. These new apps will be great for fans of the builder and its iconic yachts, many included in most Top 100 lists.
The new app provides an overview of the shipyard facilities, as well as exclusive photographs of more than 30 recent Lürssen yachts ranging in size from 190 feet (58 meters) to 508 feet (155 meters). There is exterior photography of each yacht and interiors of most. The initial download offers three pictures of each yacht, and for those interested in seeing more, an update will provide the user with all the pictures.
In October 2011, Lürssen launched its new Internet presence at lurssen.com. The family-owned and operated yachtbuilder takes Web users on a virtual tour of the megayacht world. The platform features not only breathtaking images and interesting company background, but also interactive functions, such as the exclusive Lürssen Forum. The password-protected Forum is designed to engage captains who can share knowledge and ideas. Captains and crew are welcome to register under the navigation point “Lürssen & Friends.”
