After a record build pace of less than three years from steel cutting, acclaimed global yacht builder Lürssen announces the highly anticipated delivery of Azzam, the world’s largest yacht to date. The literally enormous achievement was made possible through the guidance and leadership of Eng. Mubarak Saad al Ahbabi, the principal designer who derived the original creative idea based on in-depth knowledge of the environment.
With her length of 590 feet (180 meters) and top speed of over 30 knots, Azzam boasts an innovative, timeless design developed by Mario Pedol from Nauta Yachts. Her interior designer, renowned French designer Christophe Leoni, expressed his enthusiasm in achieving a sophisticated and luxurious interior in this turn-of-the-century Empire-style vessel.
Based in Bremen, Germany, with a workforce of 1,550, Lürssen maintains four state-of-the-art shipyards. The privately run company, with an international reputation for specializing in exclusive, large custom-built yachts, remains solely in the hands of the Lürssen family to this day.
