Fashion house Versace is putting its touch on the soon-to-open Palazzo Versace Dubai. Also, Marina Mill, creators of the Extex marine fabrics has released a new line that lights up the night.

Extex Releases Luminescent Superyacht Fabrics

Marina Mill, a U.K.-based fabric business, recently launched a new product under its Extex brand: Solar. During daylight hours, the soft color options are accented by a wave-like swirling design. At night, those nearly translucent swirls glow in the dark, creating a pretty cool effect. The photo luminescent pigment in the wave designs reportedly stores enough energy to glow for several hours after only a 30-minute exposure to natural or artificial light. Designed to cope with life on the water, Solar is water repellent, chlorine and saline durable, stain-resistant, light-fast, pre-shrunk and machine washable.

Versace-branded Hotel and Condominium to Open in Dubai

Finishing touches are being installed in Dubai’s first fashion-branded hotel. The Palazzo Versace Dubai will house 214 hotel rooms and 169 luxury one- to six-bedroom condominiums, each decorated with materials and furniture from Donatella Versace’s famed design house. The private apartments will include timber flooring in the bedrooms with marble and mosaic tile through the remainder of the living areas as well as access to the Palazzo’s amenities such as Lebanese and Italian restaurants, ballrooms, meeting rooms, lounge bar, Versace boutique, spa and gym.
