Lurssen Floats A List Topper

Lürssen has floated what is believed will be the largest yacht in the world. The German builder in May slid the partially completed hull of what is being called Project Azzam from its build shed and towed it to a drydock for completion.

Sun-Powered Circumnavigation a Success

Even considering all means of transportation, the MS Tûranor PlanetSolar is the first vehicle to successfully circumnavigate the globe solely using solar energy. After more than 19 months, the largest solar-powered ship ever built crossed the finish line in Hercule Harbour in Monaco May 4. The journey of 32,286 miles took the vessel and its crew through all the oceans and touched every continent.

A New Home Port For Bertram

After more than 50 years in Miami, Bertram Yacht is relocating to Merritt Island, Florida. The legendary company’s president, Alton Herndon held a press conference at the new location and says Bertram plans to build more boats and to do it better on a large piece of land with direct access to a navigable waterway.

Lurssen has launched Ace (ex-Project Rocky), RMK launched their 4500 and announced a new Sparkman & Stephens project, Palumbo has a new hybrid sport yacht under construction, Seaton and Burger team up for a new expedition yacht, Ferretti delivers Hull No. 28 of its Custom Line 112 NEXT to China, and Nobiskrug delivers top 100 contender Mogambo.
