The 27th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show, March 22-25, will feature more than $350 million in yachts, smaller boats and accessories, according to Show Management, organizer of the show and parent company of Yachts International.

The show, which has grown annually since its inception, covers the gamut from inflatable’s and center consoles to sportfish boats and superyachts. It is located along scenic Flagler Drive in the heart of West Palm Beach. With the addition of 40 slips at Palm Harbor Marina at the show’s north end, this year’s event will feature more large yachts than in years past. Also new this year is the addition of Trawler Port, a show within a show, which will offer a display of trawler yachts ranging in size from 35 feet (10.7 meters) to 90 feet (27.4 meters).

In addition to boats and accessories, there will be a wide range of special events, seminars and educational activates for visitors of all ages from The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) and the non-profit Hook The Future.

Yet another addition this year is the smartphone app, available for iPhone and Android. Maps and listings allow visitors to navigate virtually the show’s docks, land areas and tents to locate the exhibitors or boats at this year’s show. There are many new boats this year.

As always, the Palm Beach Boat Show is a great place to look for a new tender for the megayacht, or simply a fun boat to take the family out. In this category, are two great boats under 50 feet (15.2 meters): Hinckley’s new Talaria 48 and the Z 44, the first Zeelander built in the United States. The first Zeelanders shown in the United States were designed and built in Holland. But the company had other plans for the US market and shipped the mould to Tiara’s S2 plant in Holland, Mich., which is now building, under contract, the Z 44 for distribution in the United States through MarineMax. The list is enticing with new boats in all sizes. In the 80-foot range are the Princess 85, the Viking 82 and the Donzi 80 for instance. Horizon Yachts has a new Horizon 74 and PC58. Also in Palm Beach are a new Ocean Alexander 65, the Azimut 58 and the Sea Ray 52, but also new boats from Regal, Tiara, Hatteras, Cranchi, Boston Whaler, Wider and others.

In the megayacht category, Westport will showcase new yachts as well as a few brokerage ones. The new slips at the north end of the show are large enough for large yachts. These include the 183-foot (55.7-meter) Benetti Four Aces, the 167-foot (50.9-meter) Oceanco Lazy Z, Feadship’s 164-foot (50-meter) Iroquois, Christensen’s 162-foot (49.3-meter) Remember When and Hargrave’s 108-foot (32.9-meter) Freedom R.

This year’s show follows the company’s successful Yacht and Brokerage Show in Miami Beach in February, where brokers and builders reported strong sales.
