Air

LENGTH: 265ft. 9in. (81m)
SHIPYARD: Feadship, Holland
YEAR: 2011

Feadship Koninklijke De Vries launched and christened Air, the largest superyacht the shipyard has built to date at its Aalsmeer facility. De Voogt Naval Architects and Rémi Tessier collaborated on the minimalist interior design of this yacht with a “Harley Davidson-black” hull. Project Manager International Yacht Register has the yacht available for charter. Seven staterooms include an ondeck split-level owner’s suite with private deck. Air also features a helipad fit for commercial use. This presented a challenge, which Feadship and De Voogt Naval Architects handled with grace. Late in 2011, Air stole the Antigua Charter Show. The interior was a point of contention among those lucky enough to step onboard this closely guarded superyacht. Contemporary, minimalistic and monochrome, this yacht utilizes a fair amount of white onyx—some beautifully backlit to show off the designs and imperfections of the stone—as well as limestone. Some thought it too minimalistic, but the décor brings your attention to one of the most noticeable features—the windows. Large and numerous, they ensure that no matter where you are within the yacht, you don’t miss anything in the world outside.
