Laurel, for many years one of the world’s best-kept secrets, has come out of anonymity in the past few months. Having completed a number of circumnavigations, she is now listed for sale. She is the largest yacht launched by Delta Marine and of the largest yachts built in the United States in the past 86 years. Delta’s naval architecture and engineering team worked with Donald Starkey and the owners’ representatives on the design of this alluring vessel. Dakota Creek Industries built the steel hull and Delta completed construction using state-of-the-art equipment and technology for a maneuverable, comfortable, efficient yacht able to meet the speed and range requirements of the client. The choice to build the superstructure in carbon fiber helped reduce weight and increase fuel efficiency. The yacht is equipped for energy and environmental efficiency with gray water treatment and trash management systems, conforms to Lloyds Yacht (P) Register, MCA, IMÒ and ISPS and meets requirements of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL). Laurel is available for charter.
