79: Lady Sarya

Rinaldo Gastaldi was the naval architect who originally designed this very distinctive yacht in 1972 for American construction magnate William Levitt, of “Levittown” fame. Levitt’s company, Levitt & Sons, created large suburban developments of prefabricated single-family homes, beginning in 1950 on Long Island.

77: Samar

Samar made a visit to the 2009 Antigua Yacht Charter Show that was much-noted, and for good reasons: This five-deck yacht is a showstopper. Visitors step from the aft deck into the interior of a grand castle.

76: Tango

London-based Eidsgaard Design styled this striking and award-winning Feadship, built at the Royal Van Lent shipyard in cooperation with Edmiston. Eidsgaard Design also did this yacht’s interior design. The firm shows a real knack for creativity, evident at first glance on this yacht’s superstructure styling.

75: Montkaj

When Amels launched Montkaj in 1995 her length was 246 feet, which made the largest yacht built in the Netherlands at the time. A major refit in 2000 extended the yacht longer by 10 feet. Prince Mohammed, son of the late King Fahd, owns Montkaj, one of the world’s most secretive yachts.

74: TV

This Espen Øino-designed yacht is the former American-owned Madsummer. Along with the new name comes a new hull paint, which was done at the Rybovich yard in Palm Beach, Florida. Gone is the pale-blue hull color scheme, but designer Alberto Pinto’s elegant and colorful summer-home interior décor remains.

73: Titan

This is another of Abeking & Rasmussen’s 78-meter custom series featuring the shipyard’s own naval architecture and engineering. Under the leadership of the late Hermann Schaedla, who took over the shipyard in 1959, Abeking & Rasmussen developed and built technologically advanced projects. All of the yachts built on this 256-foot platform include a tender-launching system unique to A&R.

72: Eminence

Shortly before its 100th anniversary, Abeking & Rasmussen signed a contract for the largest yacht it had built to date. The first of several hulls exceeding 255 feet was launched in 2008. Originally ordered by Connecticut car dealer Herb Chambers, owner of Excellence III, the yacht was reportedly sold in the last few months of construction and launched by her new owner, rumored to be Russian, as Eminence.

71: Dannebrog

The Royal Dockyard in Copenhagen launched this Danish royal yacht in 1931, the same year Savarona first cruised. She is, with Norge, one of two royal yachts remaining in Europe. She served as a hospital ship during World War II and can still be used as such in case of emergencies.

70: C2

This dark-hulled yacht, project 6479, is Eminence’s sistership. Vanity Fair in one its “New Establishment” Lists (their Top 100) identified the owner as a Forbes-ranked Wharton Business School graduate whose diversified investments have fared well this year (he is a Forbes-ranked billionaire). He previously cruised on a 188-foot yacht.

69: Amaryllis

Amaryllis, a yacht by Abeking + Rasmussen launched in fall 2011, features a Reymond Langton Design. She offered quite a contrast to Mogambo, docked next to her at the Genoa Show. Her restrained exterior styling, with a classic navy and white paint scheme, belies an ornate décor inspired by the French Belle Epoque and Art Déco.
